I am not joking when I say Legends ZA is not only the Worst Pokemon Game I've ever played, it's one of the worst games in general. Context, I am a huge pokemon fan, been into it since the anime dropped in the states, I got Red on launch day, with the exception of SWSH I have played every pokemon game, including the spinoffs, beginning to end. I probably will not even be finishing legends ZA. It might be good for like, toddlers? The game holds your hand for way too long at the beginning with zero freedom, if you thought SunMoon was bad (which honestly I didn't think it was that bad in SuMo!) you will likely want to throw your switch through a window at ZA. I had almost 100 pokeballs within the first 15 minutes of the game, even though unlike the last Legends game it's almost impossible to miss a throw due to the lockon system automatically making sure your ball lands. But hey don't worry, if you do hit the wrong button and throw a ball at nothing, an NPC just hands all your missed balls back to you. This is a negative to me. The graphics are...Bad, the city is ugly and of course that's where the game Takes Place so you just stare at this ugly boring same-y stuff the entire time, until it's whiffing painfully off your brain. The roster is painfully small, less than there were in Legends Arceus, I imagine they plan to put them behind a paywall, classic modern Nintendo. Combat is, literally, painful. Having to hold down multiple buttons during a battle just sucks frankly, I hate it, and it makes my hands hurt. This game literally hurts to play. Abilities were removed, they did so in Arceus too, but Arceus had the stance change system as an interesting add in to replace it, in ZA I guess the replacement is the garbage new combat system that sucks so much I can barely interface with it for long before I need to stop and let my hand stop throbbing. The music is ignorable at best. I don't like almost any characters, partially because they were set up to fail via being the irritating entities that prevent you from playing the game HEY OVER HERE HEY THIS WAY NOPE CANT GO THAT WAY FOLLOW MEEEE oh my god I Hate It. The only good thing about ZA is the fashion system and it's wasted because I want to play the game as little as possible and ergo do not care how the player character looks because every moment I spend playing I ache to not be looking at it. This may be the first Pokemon game I don't finish (not counting SWSH because I just never owned that one)
