This romantic drama is an updated version of Hallmark's The Magic of Ordinary Days with Keri Russell in the tv movie version. That was set during WWII when out of wedlock pregnancy was enough to force a woman into marriage.
Purple Hearts has a far more realistic take on the current day needs of a diabetic woman and our country's current healthcare system of insurance for all but not if you really need healthcare to save your life from chronic illness, as your deductible will be totally unaffordable.
Both productions show how a predictable and repeated storyline can still be moving when done well by great actors. And the music performances are fantastic.
Nice to see a movie set in the U.S. actually filmed in the U.S.
