Watch the film without preconceived expectations with the exception of knowing John carpenter produced the score (the man does not miss). The storytelling and cinematography are phenomenal. The acting is well executed. And maybe just as importantly, take note that almost all of the negative reviews are commenting on how they loved the original film or book and felt the modern adaptation (which uses cleverly placed references to the 80’s interpretation) didn’t align closely enough to the film, regardless of it’s better executed scenes shared between both films. It’s a great movie that is best viewed as its own project as opposed to a remake. I’m sure Stephen King and Molly approve.
