Even before I learned the main character (Chad) was a 38 year old woman playing a teenage boy the character seemed creepy, I sensed something was not right and decided to not bother watching it again. So the question is WHY? Is having an adult woman playing the lead character some kind of weird liberal transgender experiment, and could a 38 year old man be so easily accepted playing a teenage girl in a school environment? I don't think so. Persian boys are stunning, and I think this show would work much better with a real Persian boy especially in a High School setting with all the dynamics of mainstream boy/girl relationships, a tried and true formula for success.
