The plot was intriguing but the finale was very disappointing. Alot of the storyline didnt make sense, but I was invested and wanted to see a few of the characters get their comeuppance- Huge let down in that department. Overall, it wasnt bad but I wish I wouldve just skipped to the end vs sitting thru 8 episodes of build up just to be let down in the end.

I love period pieces, and do not mind the subtitles but this story is painstakingly slow. I'm invested and want to see where it ends, but we are on the penultimate episode, where typically something grand happens, but nothing did. Not to mention the two separate incidents, in this recent episode 5, where something nonsensical happens. Again, I'm invested but this show has been a disappointment.

I have 2 more episodes to go. I'm only still watching, at this point, because I'm invested. This easily could've been a movie or atleast a shorter series. 8 episodes is 4 episodes too long. It will not take long to figure out the plot, but Netflix decided to drag this out. The main protagonist is great, but the story overall is far more complicated than it should be.

Ben Affleck and Tye Sheridan were wonderful. As a matter of fact, the whole cast did excellent jobs. I just did not like the ending. The story did not feel fleshed out enough for me, but it was a true story so I'm not sure what more could have been done besides not tell it at all? It was a decent movie, not a waste of time but glad it wasn't in theaters. I would not have wanted to spend money on this. Overall, I would give it a solid C. Again, kudos to the cast especially Ben and Tye.

Great acting, subpar storyline. Glad I waited until it streamed on Hulu, and did not pay to see it.
