imo, someone FINALLY has done visual justice to a Stephen King story
when a series or movie says "inspired by" or "based on" on written source, it does not mean it is word for word, but simply that; inspired by or based on.
as far as dialect of the American English spoken? sure, I get that. but if they did speak in early 19th century American English with a hard new England dialect-well just think of the reviews then?:
"so hard to understand! i even tuned on captions and the captions program didn't understand either!"
It is always best to communicate with one's audience in the language and dialect they best understand
