An absolute masterpiece. From cover to cover, word to word, song to song, and everything in between. Pete Wentz is a master at making you feel things you never wanted to feel but in the best ways possible (like a slap in the face and a hug at the same time but you actually really needed both of those things so it’s okay lol), while at the same time still being able to make you laugh and remind you that you’re not alone. And that is all the difference.
The story is written wonderfully. Much like the music Fall Out Boy puts out, you almost forget the story behind the cheerfulness is supposed to be a sad one cause you’re enjoying it so much (but it definitely reminds you, along with trigger warnings and everything).
The art is also wonderful— I love the way the artist used colors to express when Ash felt an emotion besides apathy. Scenes go from gray-scale to suddenly color-shaded with her mood-swings and I find that to be a nice touch, personally.
Thanks, guys— to everyone involved in this work of pure art. I’ll cherish this book always. ❤️
