So far, it holds the heart and soul that's One Piece. Some changes to adjust pacing of anime vs live action. Felt very much as a Japanese Live Action film or show would feel, just in English. Gives Pirates of the Caribbean vibes, but in a VERY good way. Highly recommend giving it a try before letting anime purists sway you. This has Eiichiro Oda's stamp of approval for a reason.
