This a exciting Early Western, Directed by Burt Lancaster. Good story and dialogue written by western writer A.B. Guthrie. Great steamboat scene and fighting scenes. Walter Matthau's first movie and he's good as a bullwhip wielding businessman and villian. Other good character actors excellent. Great location photography in Kentucky. Wonderful music score by the great Bernard Herrmann. Good for family entertainment.
