It’s too bad that a really amazing story of soccer/football greats in modern times gets slighted by the fact that there’s a person who is different than most & therefore believes he needs to be represented as such. For whatever reason, he wanted to become a “she”… all personal stories are unnecessary at this point for fans to objectively love or dislike this film and this story. This movie continues on to make the biggest deal out of his “differences” in order to sway the general public into loving this and believing that it’s “normal” to easily simplify the uncommon/more complex beings that represent humanity. I would have rather watched a story about an underdog team making major waves in the soccer world because they were authentically hardworking & never had it in their blood to quit. It would have been so much more entertaining & INSPIRING for me, my husband , our 2 young sons, and 1 young daughter. It’s unfair & uncomfortable to attempt to explain, multiple times, to our sons and young daughter that this representation of a human being is anything less than normal. It’s abnormal. If should NEVER, EVER be normalized.
