Loved this historical novel set in small-town Martinsville, Illinois post World War II! I almost want to call it a “period piece” because of how masterfully the author makes the town come alive- with Ella Watson and the Devin Bakery at it’s center. I could almost smell freshly baked bread as I read- which brought back many warm childhood memories of my own. It’s a fun, entertaining story filled with all the elements of a good book- including a sweet love story!
