Sinners is very slow but not in a way that helps flesh out the story to any great degree. We know only slightly more at the end of the movie as we did at the start when it comes to Smoke and Stack. The protagonists seemed to do a lot in what seems to be one day but it is done in a very dull way. We are also told about where they lived by 2 throw away characters instead of a scene that sets up the characters. The music scenes carry on for way too long and almost stops the movie. The main threat is also very uneven at times scary and then almost comedic. It seems to want to be a modern day From Dusk to Dawn but lacked the interesting character driven first half of that movie and didn't commit to the craziness the same way as From Dusk Til Dawn. Michael B. Jordan was by far the best part of the movie and his performance is great
