I saw it today. As someone who's seen the original one years ago and recently, & a fan of the original one:
I loved the new Top Gun movie!
It's awesome and I highly recommend it.
It does fan service to the fans of the first Top Gun movie, it does fan service to the military, it has a lot of practical effects which adds so much realism to the movie. Very well done.
