10/10
Now I’m not someone who normally enjoys turn based games at all but Expedition 33 was a game that I was convinced into playing by my friend and man am I happy he told me to play it. Let’s start off by talking about the campaign. The Campaign is easily one of the best RPG campaigns I’ve played in years and that includes God Of War 2. The characters in the game are characters that you grow to love and enjoy playing with even some of the npc characters are funny and corky so much so that an unexpected death had me a 23 yr old man in tears. Now I’m not entirely done with the campaign (about 57% done) but so far it’s been a blast.
There are so many different types of enemies to fight and if you aren’t using the right people it’s a quick GG. The boss fights don’t feel incredibly hard but they sure as hell aren’t easy either and I love that, not to mention each boss feels and fights completely different which I LOVE because it means the Devs put hours into the game to make each boss unique.
Now I’ve seen some reviews complain about the amount of enemies on the map and to them I say cry about it. Each time you defeat an enemy you get XP which is obviously used to level up your expeditioners and trust me your gonna want them almost maxed out going into the final boss or so I’ve been told.
There are quite a bit of cut scenes and if you’re anything like me you don’t particularly enjoy cut scenes however I have watched almost every cut scene so far because they aren’t boring like most cut scenes They are filled with emotion that make you fill stronger towards each character that’s in them. Sorry if this review is all over the place but I’ve got so many thought on this game that it’s hard to just talk about 4 or 5.
The way the game looks graphically and visually overall is very aesthetically pleasing and a very beautiful game an this is coming from someone who plays on a ps5 with a tv that has the basic TV graphics so you and I could only imagine what this game looks like in 8k graphics.
Now to talk about the Music that plays in game. It’s absolutely beautiful, I haven’t been able to stop listening to the music since I started playing the game hell I’m listening to the album right now on Apple Music as I make this review. Each song is filled with emotion and love and fits every boss fight and cut scene.
Overall this games gets a 10/10 and I urge you to play it or at least watch a YouTuber play it because it is that AMAZING of a game and I promise you you will enjoy playing/watching it as I and so many other gamers have.
I also want to mention that this game was only made by 30 developers which is something that I forgot to mention earlier so hell I’m adding it now. A game made by 30 people that has an 100% on steam a 4.9/5 on PlayStation and 5/5 on Xbox should already be enough to tell you how Amazing this game is but if not I hope I gave you a reason to play it.
