This is the movie that has been missing from recent release lineups. Knowing the book, the movie expertly recreates the religious undertones Mary Shelley originally wrote with, and encourages one to question what it means to create something and the responsibilities that come with it, and the consequences of such abandonment, neglect, and abuse. Every scene, every expression, breathes life into the characters.
Jacob Elordi is breathtaking in his portrayal of Frankenstein's Monster. When you feel drawn to a character and the actor's portrayal, it speaks volumes. When you can relate to the character due in part to the actor's performance, you know it is masterful. Oscar Isaac felt at home as Victor Frankenstein. The writing is phenomenal.
It is a must-watch for those who love to be emotionally moved and touched by film.
