I just finished watching this during the pandemic. The series was engaging. It started off realistic but then a lot of unrealistic exaggerated scenes. Jim Cryer was the best. Great actor in my opinion, I wouldn't watch it if he's not there. He made me laugh at times too. Veronica character burned out , so was benny's I fast fwd his parts in too many scenes. And why would Candace have such power over people she just meets, manipulating, slapping with her threats and nobody can do anything. I didn't see good chemistry with candace and Charles but I saw it with Jim. I wish there was a better balance with more romances, friendships like katherine and Hannah than all these unrealistic fights and characters constantly in the same hospital recuperating. It seemed like a Halloween movie with veronica. It's time Veronica character disappears. The show has potential for improvement.

I started watching this series. i skipped through several parts I didn't like. It seems like now they are doing series with things from the past 80s and 70s to show how mentally disturbed someone is... Unnecessary scenes, about toilets and bathroom scenes. So I try again and skip those scenes and again more toilet scenes, actually using it or throwing up in it or talking in bathrooms... i'm not sure why the writer thinks that's so important some things we KNOW and use our imagination... I gave up and found something else to watch. This series had potential to be better because the main actress is very good but I didn't like her in that role.

I didn't read the reviews prior to watching. I paused the movie a few times to do other things. It was long or seemed to drag. I suspected she was gay but wasn't sure. Through writing those letters she transforms those feelings for that girl.Despite no joy in the movie with these serious teenagers , I liked how Ellie Chu played her part.
