I gave it one star for the storyline and setting. If not for those two elements, I'd give it a zero. Jake Gyllenhaal was a bad choice for the character. He just didn't pull it off. He's not the rough, gritty, wanderer that you'd expect from the character. The movie also lacks character development. They just seem to pop in and then all of the sudden they're part of the movie. There's also no buildup of conflict that leads to the final showdown. It seems like a collection of random events, then before you know it, it's the final showdown. The lack of background music doesn't help it either. You just don't feel the drama and the conflict. As for the actual acting, it was like watching an episode of Saved By The Bell.
