Joan Cotton

I bought this book in the 70s for my daughter who was about 3-4 years old. It was one of her favorite books! I was a teacher and some years later I did a class project with my second grade class when they created a kite with a certain personality and wrote a story about it. I now volunteer at my twin grandchildrens’ second grade class this year and am going to do the same project with them. It’s fun to talk about the vocabulary such as “torch,” “cupboard,” etc., the fact that the writer is from Australia and the illustrations are great. It’s a well worn and loved book!
