I have always loved Marvel, but their recent decline can be denied by no one. I walked into this movie expecting something on par with Morbius but was delightfully surprised. I had seen all the reviews about how boring and bad the movie was, and I truly didn't understand why people hated it. I loved Dakota Johnson, though I have always found her hilarious. I felt she was more realistic than other heroes because she wasn't ready to take the three young girls under her wing. I really enjoyed how the relationship between Madame Web and the girls developed, and I especially loved each time something went wrong. I liked that the movie didn't shy away from showing brutality when the villain found the girls, and I thought it was actually tense. However, that was probably the only time the villain was scary, and I truly think the actor and post-production editing of the lines were the worst part of the movie. Sometimes, the CGI isn't the best, but I'm not surprised that Marvel didn't shovel buttloads of money into a movie not even part of the MCU. I really recommend it, and I feel that most of the criticism it receives is unwarranted. Like, why are you mad the main character doesn't instantly understand how to use their powers and why are you made the movie is an origin story and not a typical superhero movie???
