I watched the original in the Theaters when I was a kid and I quite liked this one. The music was really good, the visuals incredible and the story line not too bad. I work in tech, so I had to suspend my thinking on things and just enjoy the movie. So that's what I did. Although I didn't get if the movie was spoofing on Depeche Mode or not since NiN did the soundtrack. hmmmm.

The Ghibli philes will give this a great glowing review. But the pacing was slow, the plot disconnected, the overall story boring, and some really gross visuals. Some of the scenes were indeed beautiful, but it didn't compensate for such a boring flick. It's not spirited away. Oh I almost forgot the boring piano music that was so uninspired that played all through out. You can wait till video for this one.

Great movie. A comedy love story in the realm of ground hog day

The multiple story segments combined with the incredibly imaginative world, creates a very engaging and dynamic story. I'm curious to see where the characters will end up. I hope it continues like this. There is the slight risk to telling infinite back story with out moving the story forward. That's when I will stop watching.
