The filming of the movie is impressive. Obviously this gentleman is an expert in his field. The visual documentation of the life and skills of the octopus is very educational. What makes the film's purpose somewhat suspicious is the oversimplified Disney-style story itself. It is somewhat fictional and over sweetened. How is it possible that every crucial moment happened just when he was visiting and filming? Perhaps he used authentic footage coupled with dramatized moments to tell the whole story. Sometimes it gave me the impression that this was in reality a special self-imposed therapy for his own sake. Like if this "relationship" among "friends" had HIM as the main benefitted one. Although the story looks sweet and human, it is one octopus among thousands and despite its immense intelligence, they don't give a hoot about a human being in their habitat. The good thing about the movie is that it makes us aware of the beauty of creation and how we can and should be more respectful of everything that lives on this beautiful planet.
