I don't usually leave reviews to films as I've got better things to do but I feel incredibly let down and maddened by this terrible version of one of the most important events in modern history and of the amazing life of the central character. Overly long, rambling, boring film. No flow, no building of the characters, jumping back and forth on the timeline, utterly stupid, unnecessary and out of place scenes (e.g. Oppie and lover naked in the committee room!!?? Really!!), overdramatic slow motion explosions and astronomical scenes. Over the the top of all this was a constant musical score that (although wonderful to listen to sat in a deck chair on a sunny evening) was inappropriate and unnecessary in so many scenes, sometimes making the dialogue difficult to hear and overpowering others. In all the three hours of this dreadful film I don't think there was a single scene without it! Silence, or just the actors conversing would have conveyed a more powerful mood.
