A hollow shell of a game in a beautiful game world with an engrossing storyline. The main problem with the Witcher 3 is the RPG genre. Travel -> Interact by pressing a single button -> Cutscene The witcher 3 offers no gameplay other than quests. Yes there are plenty of them but they are very formulaic. If you believe that all a Witcher does in life is chase the minimap to the next marker then the Witcher 3 is a great RPG. If you believe as I do that there's more to being a witcher than battering monsters with an op demigod character (even on hardest difficulty) then Witcher 3 is a mediocre RPG at best. The reviews giving it high scores make a little more sense if you compare W3 to other RPG games but don't be fooled. It may be the best of a bad bunch but as a game disappointment abounds.
