The review is wrong about Gunny Highway taking recruits and making them into a fighting unit. The troops in question were leaderless Force Recon Marines with a clueless lieutenant in charge of the platoon. Also, in the movie, it looks like they are filming on location at Camp Talega, home of where 1st Force Recon was when I was in the Corps at Camp Pendleton, CA. Even though the Marines in the film are supposed to be from the 2nd Force Recon Battalion which would be Camp Lejeune, NC.
