I knew even before googling the movie it would have a low rating. It's cliché, it does not bring anything new on the table, and it's from a distopian novel made for teenagers. Really, it has everything to be hated.
Still, I had a great time. It reminded me of the 2010s distopian movies (Hunger Games, Divergent...) with all the clichés you can think about. A love triangle, a perfect society that is a lie, a 16 years old ordinary girl that somehow changes the course of everything (on top of being physically fitter than a real life soldier) etc.
BUT Netflix made an effort on the visuals. It's nice to look at. And we also can easily who is Ugly and Pretty, the make ups and CGI well done. I also appreciated the cast in itself.
Truly, the movie is more of a 3 stars but I want the next part so it's a 4 for me. Blame the nostalgia, but it was fun to watch!
