I really loved this book. The setting seemed authentic and haunting and the way the story wove between decades was fluid. The character of Leo, who fled from the Nazis to come to a country where he had to hide who he was on so many levels, was a brilliant character build. The Hollywood of the 50s was recreated in this book in a way that really made me “get it.” Heartbreaking and yet positive. Let us hope we never live those dark days of the McCarthy witch hunts again.
