Spoiler free! My first game was Ocarina of Time in middle school. When Breath of the Wild came out I thought it was good but it wasn't my favorite LoZ game. Tears of the Kingdom absolutely demolished my expectations, this is a masterpiece of a zelda game. A lot of the systems in botw feel expanded on in very meaningful ways, you can get lost in the map for years with how much they expanded it, the final boss was one of the coolest gaming experiences I've ever had! The writing wasn't crazy good, there was some corny lines and repetitive stuff, but the lore it added to the franchise fit very well. IMO botw wasn't a great addition to the franchise in terms of storytelling but it was groundbreaking in mechanics, totk expanded upon the mechanics and retold the story in a MUCH better way. 10/10, I'll be playing this for hundreds of hours
