Taylor Sheridan needs to stick with westerns. Had a hard time staying awake through all 8 episodes. Putting aside the unrealistic perspective of a full blown model being able to side hustle as a high end Marine.
And no, it's not a sexists thing, I wouldn't want to a see Victor Kusma pose as a Marine either. Demi Moore was far more realistic in GI Jane, and Demi Moore's character would beat the hell out of Cruz or Joe (and she was only a Lieutenant, not special ops). Like most 50+ actresses in Hollywood, Nicole Kidman needs to push away from the plastic surgery table, her perma-smile was distracting. At least we didn't have to sit through an awkward Morgan Freeman performance as in the World Cup opening ceremonies (brutal).
That aside, the plot was thin and took way too long to be engaging. 2 out of the 8 episodes were "watchable": episode 1 and episode 8, you can skip the middle 6 episodes as they provided no value to the storyline. 2/8 = 25% which is closest to 1 out of 5 stars (20%).
