I've read some negative reviews that this show is "woke" or "typical Hollywood" but I think the problem is that it's boring. Odenkirk is fine, of course, but they don't give him a lot to work with. The university jokes are toothless---wow, tenure jokes---and his character has the usual old-rich-guy-on-TV complaints as well as daddy issues. Not much meat on the bone here. The cast of teachers are boring too. They're nothing more than generic stereotypes. The attempts to be quirky are more cringe than anything else. So the writers really need to raise their game.
