I had a completely open mind when I started watching this. I imagined it to be ITV’s answer to Blue Lights. The truth is, it doesn’t hold a candle to the brilliantly written and superbly acted thriller we have all come to love and admire. Both of the main actors have sadly not learned how to speak. The female lead is so busy being angry, she forgets that an actor should be heard as well as seen. I’m Belfast born and reared, but I honestly can’t say I heard every other word, let alone all of them. It was a disaster from start to finish and switching over to Blue Lights assured me I wasn’t completely deaf. Borderline does not deserve a Friday night hot spot on television, neither would it deserve a Monday night 11 pm spot. This country produces fabulous actors and well written scripts. This is not one of them. I can’t imagine who thought it was worth another season. Such a shame!
