IMHO, SPF’s acting was the best I saw in 2023, and that includes “Oppenheimer” and “Killers of the Flower Moon.” He won’t get the recognition he deserves because this film is on the wrong side of the cultural wars as far as Hollywood is concerned. That is a real injustice because Flanery’s transformations from one personality to another was masterful and reminded me of Ed Norton’s brilliant performance in “Primal Fear.” Jordan Belfi was excellent as well, but the story simply gives Flanery a far more complex character and he took it to the bank. The movie lacks a big-budget gloss, but makes up for it with the intellectual sparring between the main characters. I hope Flanery gets another role like this soon, the guy is that good.
