Currently watching this as I type... I'm a HUGE Gaga fan, & fan of the Joker when Heath Ledger starred as this role (RIP), but this film so far isn't grasping my attention like I had hoped! 🙁 The singing & musical element isn't bad, and the storyline isn't bad, either, it's just missing the action-based, psychotic-fueled rawness that Heath portrayed in his version of playing Joker. Joaquin Phoenix is so soft spoken and timid compared to how dark, crazy & humorous Heath was... it's just a completely different feel from the film Heath starred in. I'm still trying to give it a chance since I'm a fan of Gaga & open-minded to the idea of it taking a direction of being basically a broadway musical, but it's definitely not having the iconic impact that Heath's version of Joker had (or Margot Robbie's version of Harley Quinn, either.)
