I believe that negative reviews come from people expecting a super hero movie and that they are fair, however, this is THE definitive BATMAN movie clearly taking inspiration from source materials Batman Year One, the Long Halloween, and Batman Ego. This movie definitely is going to be loved by Batman fans who understand the character and grew up reading the stories such as myself, however, I understand those that are indifferent to this movie or simply just do not like it because they expect a super hero movie. To which I repeat, this is not a super hero film, this is a Batman film.
