1 1/2 ⭐️ Too many tropes. Not enough creativity. I was SO excited for this show and to see Aldris Hodge in the lead role of a series! However, I was sorely disappointed. 1. I REFUSE to watch any other show or movie that uses violence or the death of a woman to propel the plot. So many comments are complaining about the "woke" vibe of the show, but NO ONE has said ANYTHING about seeing a woman, wife and mother, die just to tell a tired a$$ story. 2. He's so brilliant he's ignorant. He comes off having no street smarts or common sense AT ALL. 3. He has NO business dating! Period! He's not over his wife yet. An why are we wasting a beautiful, educated, childless, career woman on him anyway??? 4. He doesn't seem to really care about his family AT ALL either! His job/career shouldn't matter to the point of putting EVERYBODY he loves in harms way. 5. I couldn't stomach the subplot. As a "genius" detective he didn't even vet who he was leaving his children with??? 6. His best friend's character played like a side kick or even a pet... 7. I was looking forward to watching Ryan Eggold because I enjoyed him so much on the Blacklist, but nope. He fumbled this role. Way too predictable: rich, crazy, well connected, bad liar, ect. ect. 8. There's just too many plot holes and ridiculousness to name....
