I love the game. Love it. I am really glad that they showed something different than the other two. Just another part of the Nowhere, instead of direct prequel or sequel. I was delighted to see Carnivale after listening to The Sounds of Nightmares, and honestly that whole part was way more disturbing than I'd even imagined it would be. I see a low rating for it, which makes me sad. I didn't go into this with high expectations precisely because I wanted to love it and I'm glad I did. I made the ultra high expectations mistake with Outlast Trials, and I haven't really played it since I bought it. I will say that LN3 is dark, visually. Even with the gamma all the way up and adjusting the settings on my actual TV, it's very hard to see certain things, so I'm grateful for the accessibility settings. I appreciate the outline on potentially usable things. I STILL missed certain collectables even with that 😂 so other than it being visually dark, I loved it. I found it disturbing, creepy, not a lot of jump scares, but the whole thing is just unsettling and that never lets up. In my opinion this can be even more effective at scariness than jump scares. If you haven't played yet and have built up an expectation of a certain story in your head, drop that before you play. Just be prepared for sad too, which is so well done and, I feel, absolutely necessary to really impress upon you the reality of some parts of the story. This game is worth the money I spent pre ordering. 4 stars only because of how dark it is and believe me I wanted to give it 5 in spite of.
