Although I didn’t quite click with the 1st season as it struck me as a little over dramatic and one dimensional, after watching the second and third season, I am thoroughly impressed with the depth of the characters and the issues that this show delves into. Season 3, in particular, was very nicely developed and had me tearing up throughout a few of the episodes.
There is also one scene in the third season that depicts a character having a (pretty darn accurate) panic attack and as someone who suffers from panic attacks, seeing one on a TV show for the first time in my life was so important.
I would definitely recommend this show to anyone looking to watch some poignant and relevant issues explored in an overall sweet and funny package that’s appealing to both younger and older audiences (source: it had both me (17) and my mom giggling like crazy).
