Unusual take on the darkness behind the Noah legend. I would have liked to see this Noah admit that he didn't always know God's will. His certainty during the later scenes is reminiscent of the evil he's trying to protect the world from (and the selfishness of those in the Titanic lifeboats). Thankfully he chooses love but a humility scene would have been good. Rather than an "I failed Him" scene, still thinking he knew God's will. And which male will father future children was left unsaid. But always good to be reminded of the horror of evil and the cleansing power of goodness and hope.

Loved this - hilarious and really sweet in places. But a young child (aged 4 maybe) was scared by the evil Chef and the ominous Heron, and several times was hovering near the exit with her mum, in case she needed to leave.

Powerful series that really catapults you into the individual stories within the horrific bush fire season of 2019/20. The way they focus on one or two aspects of the disaster each episode and really sit with it, conveys the intensity and reality of what happened. I have learnt a lot watching it, and incredible acting. I agree with one other review though that said the age dynamic of the firies seems a bit off, as just two young recruits are focused on. It also seemed odd that they'd be on their own so much.

I saw this today and felt it lacked rhythm and depth but it was still enjoyable. The ending of course is at odds with the original story, so it's a highly sanitised version. I was puzzled though by how empty of characters the sea world was. And how the only ones Ariel spoke to were small creatures, like a crab or a small fish and a bird. One tiny creature I could understand but where were the dolphins, the other mermaids and mermen, turtles, sting rays, etc. I just could not take the crab seriously. Once it got going though, which took a while, it ticked along.
