Honestly I've never played a video game like this one. You fall in love with the characters. You get close with people and can actually feel like you're taking on the role of an old western. You fall in love with Arthur and at the end some really devastating things happen that give me goosebumps to even write about. There's so much to do. And its amazing to see John, Lenny and Mrs. Adler grow as characters and Dutch+ hosea really feel like they raised Arthur. You have to actually care for your characters needs as well as your horses'. Food. Drinks. Bathing. Sleeping. Its all important. And there's just regular stuff like chores around camp. Chop firewood, feed horses etc... people will treat you differently dependent upon your honor and how you act. Taking care of camp is top priority. Make sure everyone's happy and you can do whatever you want. You can find all kinds of secrets. A strange cave with a bunch of statues. A "vampire" in the flesh. Even a serial killer hunt. As well as some disease. You see the diseases of the age take a real toll on people across the map. And the dangers that came with being a frontiersman. Wild animal attacks, finding gold nuggets in the dirt by rivers sometimes. Its got some of the most beautiful graphics and views I've ever seen. There's a lot going on with America moving westward at the time. The conflict with natives is really shown in a brutal way. Things start to pop off everywhere and there's a time where as a man Arthur needs to decide who he truly is and what his morals are. You can run into so many secrets and random encounters there have to be like 20 secret weapons you can find. I have personally not always been a Rockstar games person. What with gta being something where you can just run around and shoot. But this game is worth every cent. And the story I cant stress enough. Dont even touch RD online until you've played the story. Its such an amazing game and if you're looking for something completely new. Something you've never remotely tried before, this is the game. Thank you Rockstar Games for making a flawless game that drew me to tears several times near the end of the game. Id like to see a remaster of the first game.
