Other than the effects the story isn’t good tbh. The beginning was weird (not the beginning beginning, after the opening scenes when it was going thru kraven backstory) SPOILERS AHEAD- so basically kraven/sergeis dad is some big crime lord that takes them hunting to get this lion, and in the end it almost kills Sergei. Then bc his dad shot the lion and some of the lions blood gets into Sergei’s wound and it gives him powers? Doesn’t really make sense. Then he runs away from his dad to Russia, where he finds a herd of water buffalo?? And then he uses his new powers to save them from poachers. Cool I guess Also somehow, even tho he got his powers from a lion, Sergei gets the ability to zoom in on something from miles away? It doesn’t really make sense to me.. and it would be okay if the writing made up for these ridiculous things but they don’t. It just got worse as the movie went on.. Sergei starts going by kraven and kills/“hunts” bad guys now. A lot happened it was forgettable but he ends up killing some people that get revenge by kidnapping his brother. How? They used 3 seconds of footage of Kraven climbing a wall to facial scan him and find out who he was. This ends up leading him to the big bad guy, Rhino, and they have a fight at the end… it was laughably bad because it looks like they ended up using all their budget on the beginning graphics with the lion and buffalos that they ran out of money for rhinos graphics💀 Something annoying to me was that when he defeats rhino, he’s dying on the floor, and kravens brother wants to shoot him for kidnapping him but kraven says “no, this isn’t you.. don’t shoot him” as if he isn’t this vigilante that goes around and kills criminals every day? And almost all of the interactions look and sound forced, especially between kraven and his (basically sidekick) calypso, I didn’t really talk about her because I didn’t feel like it and tbh she’s not very important even tho the story desperately wants her to be Also at the end of the movie he and his brother talk and he finds out that his brother was given chameleon powers by this doctor because he wanted “power.” Basically just baiting pt2 It’s on Netflix while being a marvel movie so take from that what you will.
