The show is a bit weird, I really like the stand-alone sci fi stories the crew encounters every week. It reminds me of a low budget Outer Limits, but the ongoing story is quite uninteresting. It's a spy-vs-spy style political thriller with characters that don't mesh very well together. The two leads spend all their time being businesslike or upset and sad, there's no
real comradery between them except a sense of shared trauma. They both constantly speak in a half whisper, which can make the dialogue hard to understand
Another strange choice is that every main character in the stand-alone stories is a man, usually one dealing with grief and/or loss. Usually there is a woman involved, but she's either the one that he's trying to save or exploit. It's weird that all of them would be men, like a reverse Supernatural.
