I have never seen a movie be so blatant with its lack of identity.
It's not even a good pastiche. It literally copies from another intellectual property towards the end of the movie.
We get it, the writers are clearly super-fans of "Attack on Titan" but it just gets ridiculous when you have the protagonists mention it in two, totally disparate sections of the film and then it becomes a plot point.
Also, the sizeable amount of real life pop-culture references thrown about the film removes any kind of fantasy into the world and just makes it very unimaginative.
And can we talk about vomit scenes? Since when was someone puking for 30 seconds funny?
The only positives I can think of is the animation. Not even Jackie Chan's and Ice Cubes' voice acting talent can save this.
