If you’re someone who hasn’t read the book and contemplating watching this movie, I’d suggest you read the book instead, as the movie fails to deliver the impact the book did.
The movie skimps through a lot of important details (understandably so)- considering a movie is supposed to be finished within 1:30hrs; however the direction could’ve been way better.
This book extremely captivates you, and you somehow cannot put it down unless you’re finished reading it. It totally has you at the edge of your seat with the suspense of what’s coming next. The movie however felt very dull and wasn’t as emotional as you’d expect. They even skimp through the most important scenes that are needed to be felt, especially since you’re trying to spread a message here.
If you haven’t read the book however, I guess it’s a decent movie - however you won’t really feel the impact whatsoever.
