It's a strange book , the author has dared to step into territories which are always carefully avoided by conventional writers. I wish some of the gory details in a particular scene were avoided but overall it is a highly read-able and thought provoking book.

This book sails you right through the heart of the Geisha culture. It is wonderfully detailed and paints quite a picture.

It's a good book, just not quite what I expected for a Pulitzer prize winner. You read it once, enjoy it but won't feel the compelling need to come back to it throughout your life again and again.

This book and it's popularity just reflects the quality of readership in this country. It is the age of garbage literature....
