Immigrant Soldier is an absorbing read. I felt I was able to “walk in the shoes” of Herman (the author’s uncle) a refugee from Nazi Germany, as he experienced the horrors of World War II. A beautifully written, historically informative story.

Having spent many years as an elementary school teacher, I know children can easily identify with Caitlin who just wants everyone to know that she is strong and capable. An engaging story about perseverance and self acceptance.
