One the most contrived works of the year. Like watching a montage of Netflix's greatest hits in the most shallow way possible. 1899 is without valuable story telling, unnecessary twists that end up being more annoying than suspenseful but what got under my skin the most was the attention to a sentence from one of Platos theories of reality that did nothing to help frame the story but instead, seemed like a weak attempt to trick the audience into thinking the story was "smart". Sincerely, an unapologetic show of wealth to even create this knotted yarn ball of a story. Just my opinion. Maybe I am the one who didn't get it.
