I first thought that it’s sequel to Charlie Sheen movie “Hot Shots”; for its mindless stunts such as “Inverted low fly pass over Runway”. This became next level of joke when this never heard before stunt on multi million dollar fight jet was approved by senior officer. I guess after seeing this movie Martian Air Force would be sending their UFO pilots for training with IAF. Absolute nonsense and visibly involvement of hidden “official” forces to meaningless soiling another competing state and thus the plot of the movie lost its grip. After Top Gun Maverick, I guess bollywood (Bloody Wood) should avoid such silly attempts.

Well! this movie came so late but the efforts gone into and capturing the typical life style of fighter pilots is absolutely realistic. There are many other similar efforts such as Behind the Enemy’s Line” but aerial shooting doesn’t come anywhere close. There is a query though, why Fifth Gen Fighter had to roll the aircraft into 90 degree bank to fire a missile; also when in air, it is very absurd to tap your canopy. Rest all of the scenes, tension related to next day critical mission and fighter Johnny’s gossips and jokes are so very realistic.

This movie was made with the gadgets that were free of Animatronics and thus great deal of practical demonstration in flying and super editing skills were required to make it a unparalleled marvel on fighter flying. Tom Cruise became who he is because on this movie and I always wondered what took him so time decipher the code of his success.
