Turgid doesn’t even begin to describe the dialogue. As if that weren’t enough, the only way to describe the performances is “monosyllabic.” To be clear, it wasn’t the actors’ decisions, but the director’s. Oh… did I mention the hyperbolic, self-indulgent preaching? It’s too bad because the story itself could have been compelling if handled creatively. And WTF was John Turturro thinking?!?!? When you have writing that even he can’t overcome, well, you’re really lazy.
