gears of war 5 is a game thats finally capturing what made gears of war a good series. no more off putting out of place dialog during combat like in 4 and no more weird design choices that hamper the experience other than a few bs things. its fun. as a original series gears fan i was honestly surprised it was actually good. i wasnt excited for this game. hell i even got the ultimate game pass to play it, but honestly if i had the money id buy this game. the multiplayer is fun and the old gears of war style combat feels great now. when it works its fantastic probably the best since 2. thats when it works tho. there are some issues atm. other issues i have are weird design choices like one hit kill bosses and some odd open world areas that seem to last forever (one took me honestly around 3 hours to beat). the microtransactions....are...weird. honestly im just ignoring them. I DIDNT EVEN KNOW THEY WERE IN THE GAME UNTIL I ACCIDENTALLY FOUND THEM! do what i did and forget all about them. all in all the story was pretty good! multiplayer is great and im excited to see where things go now! 8/10 from me
