It's bad. It hits all the feminist tropes, Atlas is the best of the best from the second the movie starts purely on account of being a woman and not even 20 minutes in there is a robot that corrects people talking saying that the robots pronouns are she/her. The plot is always on Atlas's side - a veteran squad of mech suit pilots are killed in an instant, but Atlas who has never set foot in one survives, etc. Due to the lack of characterization you don't really like Atlas. 50 minutes in, her entire character is that of a hysterical woman / super genious.
If you are looking for more than surface level characters and emersion then this movie is not for you. This is the type of movie where you can easily predict the next few scenes based on the contents of the characters underwear married with scriptwriting of the type you would expect from a gameboy game back in the early 90s.
This would have been better as a script for a game.
