First of all, I never saw the trailer for this, so had no expectations going in. I enjoy sci-fi movies and any type of disaster movie (except Geostorm... that was disappointing). But this one... I wanted so bad to like it. I mean, there's Hallee Berry, Patrick Wilson, Michael Pena, Donald Sutherland. Great actors. So why they chose to be in this movie is a mystery. The first 10-15 minutes were mildly exciting, giving the expectation the rest might be as well. Yikes. Nope. It was choppy, many parts unbelievable (and I don't mean factually incorrect, which there was a ton of that, I mean makes no sense). The special effects were really good but they were outweighed by the lunatic ideas and conspiracy theories. AND, they shoved the entire backstory to the whole movie near the end, and it was so dumb my husband and I just shook our heads and laughed. Goodness gracious, it was dumb. There's so many different and better ways they could have gone with this movie. I'd say watch it at your own risk. Or save your money and see something more worthwhile.
